Microsoft has confirmed that from 6 November 2009 it will cease distributions and sales of its accounting package. Microsoft Office Accounting which has approximately 10,000 customers in the UK has arranged for users to receive five years support and five years extended support from financial software company Mamut. It was launched in 2006 in the US and then later into the UK and included the setup of an accountants network. All customer support in the UK will transfer to Mamut effective immediately.  Obviously microsoft cant cope in the accounting world with the likes of Sage, Intuit and probably good old excel!
