End of the line for Southend United

Another Football League club’s future is in the hands of HMRC as they seek to place Southend United in administration over an unpaid tax bill. The League One club had been set to face a winding up order today but will instead face an administration hearing next week,  on 4 November.

Under Football League rules, clubs placed into administration face a 10-point penalty, which would send Southend from a comfortable mid-table position to the foot of the league.  Southend chairman Ron Martin. is trying every avenue to try and save the club.

This is just another example of a football club in trouble and I am sure more will go down this line.
